John S. Day began his legal career by obtaining large law firm experience in Washington, D.C. and Boston, and he subsequently opened his own law firm in 2003 so that he could provide his clients with both superior legal representation and personal attention to detail. He has represented hundreds of corporate and individual clients during the course of his career.
John is an experienced and highly-accomplished trial attorney whose practice is tightly focused on a single objective – successfully and decisively resolving his clients’ legal disputes. He is familiar with all avenues of legal dispute resolution, including trial before a judge or jury, arbitration, mediation, and direct settlement negotiations. While John recognizes that legal disputes often are advantageously resolved through a negotiated settlement, he possesses the experience, skill, and temperament necessary to effectively represent a client at trial, if going to trial is necessary to protect the client’s interests. In fact, John has taken more than fifty cases to trial verdict, including successful jury trials in federal and state court.
John received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Richmond in 1988, and earned his law degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1996. He attended the University of Richmond on a full, four-year U.S. Army ROTC scholarship and, between college and law school, he served as an Army officer with the Third Infantry Division in Kitzingen, Germany.
